This website includes the official documentation of the 1997 St Augustine's Seminar. The seminar, a major international gathering of Anglican bishops and theologians, produced working papers on some of the Conference themes.

Archbishop Trevor Huddleston, who devoted much of his life to the struggle against apartheid in South Africa, died today. Archbishop Desmond Tutu said in London today on hearing of his death, "The world is a better place for having had a Trevor Huddleston. Thanks be to God for this incredible stalwart."

The Secretary General of the Anglican Communion has requested that all Churches of the Communion of the world wide Anglican Episcopal family of Churches observe the feast of Pentecost and the nine days preceding it is a special time of prayer for the forthcoming Lambeth Conference 1998. The Conference, an international gathering of over 800 bishops, will be held this July in Canterbury.
